Funding church and community projects in the Republic of Ireland

Benefact Trust’s grants are helping churches and charities in the Republic of Ireland to make a big difference in their local and wider communities.

Supporting Irish churches and charities through grants

At Benefact Trust, we’re committed to supporting churches and Christian charities across Ireland. Our grants empower places of worship to remain open, welcoming, and sustainable - serving the needs of their communities. We also give charities the opportunity to expand their projects and address a wide range of social issues.

Whether you’re looking for funding for your church, charity, or community - we can help.

Real projects making a difference

Creating a space for community activities – County Wicklow

Holy Redeemer Parish received £70,300 funding to develop its parish hall into a flexible, inviting and cost-efficient building. The hall was well-loved over the years providing a space for over 2,000 people per year, but it reached a state where it was no longer safe or fit for use. This development will help support the varied needs of local people, providing a welcoming hub for community activities.

Addressing stigmas and supporting happy lives – Dublin

ACET’s Positive Youth Project is a new national initiative in Ireland that helps young people growing up with HIV to take control of their futures and feel happier, healthier and more confident. The project is the first of its kind in Ireland, and £45,000 funding is helping the charity to set up its support services at a local level, reaching even more young people who may feel isolated and stigmatised.

Enhancing Religious Education in the Republic of Ireland – South East Ireland

The Diocese of Waterford and Lismore received £89,500 to roll out Project Noah in schools. The course is designed to enhance the RE curriculum, engage students, and give them an opportunity to discuss faith in a safe, non-judgmental environment. It has also been created to give students tools and resources to support their wellbeing and mental health.

Irish charity bringing new skills into the sector – Dublin

Depaul Ireland is a charity working to support people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. They received £67,000 to support their innovative graduate programme which is training and developing young people to work in the homeless sector. Not only is this bringing new talent and fresh ideas into the charity sector, but it’s also trailblazing a new way forward for charities who are struggling to recruit and retain staff.
